When we put the site together there weren’t a lot of resources for sportsmen and women that were informative and hassle free. Today the places you can find fishing and hunting information are endless. The ability to manage the user interaction, create a hassle free environment and kid appropriate content has become user managed.
With that being said Chitown served its purpose and I believe run its course. In December I am going to put Chitown to bed.
Please grab any images you want from the hosting, once we close our doors the images will be unavailable.
Thanks to all the folks that used the site. A lot of people made new friends and enjoyed hunting and fishing together and that’s why the site was built.

Thanks Marc. You have allowed me a forum where I could post the joy of spotting my first hummingbird in the spring to the elation of landing ( or losing! ) a trophy fish and sharing it with my friends. Over the years, it has brought together many like-minded individuals with one thing in common: A love of the outdoors. For this, I will always be grateful. Going forward, my hopes for each of us is that we can pass on what we have been given to our kids and our grandkids. We have ALL been given a gift. Cherish it and KNOW it cannot be bought. God Bless.

Oh man, this is a real bummer, especially for someone like me that doesn't want to join a social networking app to view fishing reports.
Thanks for putting together and running this wonderful source of information.

Wow that's to bad but I'm not surprised. It is a absolute great site and have spent more time on it then I care to admit. Endless amount of knowledge but times have changed. Its really to bad as a site like this can be easily searchable to answer questions without having to ask the question over and over again. Online forums may have run their course but FB Groups is getting phased out as well as the groups are growing to big. Not sure what's next but there has got to be a middle ground.
Thank you Marc for all your hard work over the years. This site has been a critical tool for success on the water for so many of us.
HTR.

Marc, thanks for all you have done over the years giving us this playground of sorts.

this sight had more viewers than people posting fishing reports .. turned into a home shopping network than a fishing forum sight ...

It was a good run indeed. I enjoy these formats so much more then the free for all of social media. The community aspect cannot be beat. I have met great people from all of the sites over the years. I'm sad to see this one go.

Met a lot of good folks on this forum.
Some have become lifelong friends.
Some have past on and I miss those folks as much as my own family members.
I can honestly say, CTA helped me discover a lot new places and many new faces.
I was able to network with several dozen business owners and fellow outdoorsmen to exchange services and locations to enjoy.
CTA will be missed by all who came here to use the site for its original intention.

Huge bummer. Nobody to buy the site from you to keep it going?, Will miss the community, not that I met many of you in person. Doesn't matter.... Facebook groups are not quite the same. Places like this, you could separate specific fishing stuff (or some off-topic comments) from your general population of friends. Kinda like "Relationship George" vs "Independent George". (I still like the option of message board "handles" vs real names) Will miss this forum a lot.
