Sight fishing carp in the local pond and caught this beauty on the 5 wt. The fly was something I made up as a type of worm / nymph with some feather fibers for a tail, some dubbing and then wrapped with v-rib. The water was clear enough that the fly line would spook them. I cast this past him and had to work it down in front of him. As soon as he saw it he shot over and grabbed it. I didn't realize how big he was until he took his first (of several) run. This was definitely the biggest carp I've caught out of this pond.

Wow! That carp must have felt like you hooked the bumper of a tractor trailer. You must have had one heck of a fight since the fish had the power and the attitude. Well done!
