I guess the silver lining in the last 2 weeks weather is the river will be back to normal pool when all this snow melts.

True, but depending on how it melts, could cause a whole other issue.

Plenty of water sitting on everyone's lawn right now - probably will really dirty things up no mater how it goes.

I would imagine the river will be crystal clear once this cold snap breaks. I don't think the barges are moving, the river was froze across at Seneca, not sure about Morris. Probably no where to launch once things warm up.

With almost no current it's probably locked up in alot of areas. The cal sag canal by my house even had ice and that's some nasty water with warning signs all over not to go in the water.

Just got off the phone with Buster Cajun he was just pulling into the lot at Ottawa. He said the river was full of ice especially the shorelines, maybe fishable in a week to ten days if it doesn't dirty up real bad.I know from trips in the past when the shore ice lets go it drags mud from underneath and slowly releases it as it floats downriver.
