I was also out. Started at sawmill lake moved up to Senachwine. Nothing. Didn’t spend much time at either location. One quick pass. Moved up to Hennepin picked up a white and called it a day. More of a trip to get the boat out and running. Hadn’t used it since early April.

Was pulling lead core.

Mike-

Thanks for lead comment. I was to lazy to pull lead rods out but as I left, kinda said to myself I probably should have done that, your info made me feel better...haha! As I was heading down from SValley, I spoke to an old friend pulling lead at Hennipen, only had a few shorts too. We're about a month aways from a really good crank bite in a typical year. Was out running boat first time since April too, good thing cuz my kicker took water into oil so I'm on that project now. Better to find out now then on a Erie trip late fall

How deep were you fishing for them? I've been bass fishing all summer and get the occasional walleye casting shallow for smallies. But you are right, its just around the corner, gonna have to dust off the leadcore rods.

I was 6’ to 15’. Tried upstream and down stream. As low as 1.5mph upstream and as high as 3.5mph down stream with everything in between. Spent most of my time at Hennepin.

Another lead core river guy I see often was pounding the area hard too.

There are a few spots a little upstream I wanted to try that have been good in the past during this time of year but never made it that far up.

I have a busy schedule so October looks like the time I will be out again
