Question for anyone who fishes the Illinois river regularly. I know the levels are falling but what are your thoughts on someone fishing it on Tuesday?

I think I'm going to try Wednesday. Gonna play around with some white bass. We shall see, and I'll report back.

I was down at Starved Rock today. River is still up and dirty.

Very slow day. Not many were out and nobody reported catching anything.

Here's what the launch looks like.

It will be lead-core time for the post spawn once everything finally settles down. On the positive side conditions should have setup a good spawn, water stayed high and not a lot of fisherman to pull out the spawners, maybe we will get a good class out of this.

White bass will be right around the corner and that is one of my favorite runs. Hit them right and just catch fish after fish and unlike other fish, warm sunny days don't bother the bite at all - nice weather and excellent fishing!

I was just hoping for some white bass...too much rain. I'm still going to get the boat out. Sometimes it's just about being on the water.

Is starved rock launch closed or open? Looks like rain might miss, coming from Gurnee but work PT in Minooka so no big deal if rain comes in later.

It's open. No docks yet.

Well, just like you guys said. High and dirty! I'm guessing she's about 6-7' above normal. Fished from 0800-1100 before storms canes in.
