Does anyone have any suggestions for a store bought breading mix for perch and hush puppies mix. Thanks.

I have switched over to Shore Lunch Beer Batter mix, you can change the flavor by changing which beer to us. I liked Ice House at first but it seems that Bud Light gets the thumbs up from everyone. I use to just use egg and Italian bread crumbs and it worked pretty good but I wanted more of a puffy crust, also try to use peanut oil, more expensive but well worth it.

A friend of mine turned me on to " Andy's (Bake,Broil and Fry) Breading". Very easy to use, just wash your seafood and shake off extra water place in bag with Andy's shake and your good to go. GH

I got some "Uncle Buck's" as a gift a while back. I liked it. I also really like Zatarains. Maybe you can't go wrong. There's just something about a shore lunch styled meal. And I always cut up some onions and mushrooms to be breaded, so none of the mix gets wasted

Zatarains corn meal mix is good but all these pre made fish mixes are so incredibly simple you can make your own and panko is amazing on fish try it.

Thanks for the responses. I've tried a couple of those and work well. However I've decided it's hard to beat plain old bread crumbs or the panko's and doctor them up the way you like...time to get going on some fresh crappie!!

All the shore lunches are good to me. The soups are pretty good as well. I have become a big fan of the cajun

This from a chef I used to work with and very simple - Salt, pepper and panko crumbs. Panko doesn't soak up the oil and gives a nice crunch to your filets. Taste the fish, not the oil!
