Took the kayak out for the first time this season, found lots of decent bluegills and a few small cats on outside weed edges 8 - 10 feet of water, west shore of lake. For some reason, rip-rap on dam was not productive, nor were the outside edges of the bays. Wanted to try the east shores / bays, but with the winds, I was not sure how choppy the lake would get. Always want to play it safe.

Water has some color to it; maybe 6 - 8 inches of visibility to it.

I used a drop shot rig. Hook was 8" above 1/16 dropper weight, pieces of night crawler for bait.

I'm going camping out there this weekend. How are the weeds? I'm dreaming about tossing frogs into the slop.

Jim-

Thick milfoil mats from shore to about 7 feet out.

If you can find small openings between lillypad leaves, i bet you're going to have a good time.

Sweet! If you're out there and see a big guy in a tan boonie hat on a green camo 'yak, that's me. Give me a shout.
