I've got 3 free-days in Galena this weekend and am having trouble finding nearby areas to fish that aren't listed as private only. Any recommendations? Also up for trying any recommended streams by foot or kayak.

id say apple river but its completely blown up over the banks with last nights rain. brown, dirty, fast water, been like that all year. very few fish to be had.

Id recomend the galena river. right downtown galena is a great spot. plenty of smallies. just walk down the hill and slay em

Smallies in the Galena river....good to know. Next time I'm out there I'll give it a try.
