The shallow beaches will be warm enough for swimming. I would not let them swim out of the boat on the mainlake if that's what you're thinking.

I have never been out there for just pleasure boating before. I figured There has to be a place where people just raft up and swim.

HTR, People raft up and swim in Lake Como next to Lake Geneva, but unless you're going for pike and bass, there is no reason other than pleasure to hang out at Como. Como also has a beach. (I know it's a little off topic, but just giving you ideas.)

Its definitely warm enough to swim. I was in there on the 4th of July. Lots of people anchor up in Buttons bay for swimming/partying.
