Well a few a Da Boyz from Illinoiz will e heading up Nort' on Tuesday ya hey dere. We will be meeting with some fellow NAFC folks for a week at the Lake Chippewa Camp Ground.
It ought to be a pretty good pow wow if the weather holds out.
I'm hoping those fishes are ready to bust a gut and fill up for winter.
I'll be bringing some MUSKY GEAR for a few hours of chasing the brutes. But my main tools will be my light & ultra light for them delicious Wallete Crappie and BlueGill.
I sure wouldn't mind watching a nice Smallie go through it's paces at the end of my line.
First it will be catch for the fish fry, then some for the trip home.
Oh yeah, did I mention home made pies and Chicken and Sausage Gumbo.
Night lying out under the stars passed out on picknic tables. waking up with 14,000 Mosquito bites.
I thought YOU went for the Cheese!

MUSKY MAULER,
I don't know the answer to that question.
This will be my first time there and the meet was set up by someone else.
I know that I would have to write a note on my hand in ink to remember to ask someone about it.
If I find out, I will let you know.

Yes, the Lake Chippewa Campground was owned by the Northern States Power Company. AT first it was Managed by Rocky Carl and Russ Clagget of Hermans' Landing. The power company didn't like the way they managed it and about 1974 hired Don Robinson of Winter. Don lived at the Winter dam and managed the water flow over the dam for the Flowage. Don had the oportunity to purchase the campground from the power company, and he and his daughters now run it. I have know Don and his family for many years. They have put many improvements into the place, including the beautiful log lodge. If you have never camped here you should at least stop by and check it out. During the summer months it is a great place to take kids. When they are in school the place quiets down and is a very peaceful place to camp. :)

I myself have been camping there since 1975, and started going to Hermans' Landing in 1971. When my parents retired in 1987, they had a permanent trailer at the campground for 7 years.

Oh and by the way they have already had frost up there and were expecting it last night.

My time up there wasn't too great.15-20MPH winds everyday. Some gusts up to 30. Fish were way off the bite.
Company was great. Vittles were great.
Color was great.
Fishin' sucked.
Girl at the office was a Smart Mouth and gave our host a hard time.
I stopped to visit my Friend & Musky guide Larry Ramsell. He's hangin' it up. He taught me everything I know.
And...............to top off the trip, I slipped and fell on my right side with my arm under me. I bruised my ribs pretty good. :(
I'll be remembering this trip for awhile.

Yea! It still beats work. :D
