I am interested in networking two Lowrance HDS-5's (one on the console and one on the bow). Not yet interested in the structure scan, just want to have the two gps chartplotters working together, mainly with waypoints. I was told that I only needed the ethernet connector between the two. But after researching it on the internet, I am utterly confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I read something about a low fuel sensor that can be added to the HDS-5?

Another added thought. Each unit will be connected to its own transducer (one off the transom and one off the trolling motor). I need each unit to read depth independently while sharing GPS.

Yes, you need an Ethernet cable and NMEA, or a LSS1 or LSS2 module.

The craft gauges can be added to any HDS.
