Is this for Lake Michigan? If so, where is it at? Can non-residents use it? I only launch at Pastrick or Hammond. How about Portage? As of a couple weeks it was open.

I had gone to Whiting for the first time the first weekend they closed Chicago lakefront intending to cast from shore. It's a real nice park. One of the two launches' piers was damaged and unusable. The daily parking is $30 for all who complain about launch fees in Chicago. There is hourly parking too. The shore opportunities there are near non existent due to wave and high water damage. The repair of which will not be found in the launch fees. IMHO a launch fee whether $20 or $30 is a very reasonable charge (at least near Chicago)to build and maintain Lake Mi access for the small percentage of the general population that launches to fish. Some large concrete walks ripped, moved and displaced. Fairly heavy police presence that day so I didn't try to walk around the barricades and tape to cast. There is a pier directly S of the casino and about a block N of Whiting Park that I accessed but was skunked. Not really enough shore access for the 45 minuet drive for me. I gotta say I am struggling with all the closures. I went Saturday to retrieve by boat from a buddies barn - the same day Mi choose to close boating in Mi. Catch 'em up for me will ya?
