Anyone have any good spots to shore fish for burbot during this time of year (preferably right here in IL)? I heard Lake Michigan has a pretty good population of these but which locations precisely should I fish? Feel free to leave them down below. Or also don't hesitate to send me a PM. Help is greatly appreciated!

I have caught a few of them on Winnebago during the battle,Everytime though I had a big walleye lol... but no just a pout/lawyer. I did try one once just to see and it was not bad but I don't necessarily care for fish. I would say texture and taste was close to lobster. Just chunked up, boiled in some zatarans I believe as it was many battles ago.there are also pouts in lake Beulah I wouldnt be surprised if Geneva and Delevan don't have them either,?

Fishing Maniac I made a mistake-you are correct.
The fish in baggo is lawyer, burbot, eelpout
The fish in Beulah that I have caught is dogfish, bowfin.
And then there is a snakehead....

Excellent story (as usual) from Dale Bowman FOTW about a huge burbot while perch fishing south side.
