Had a bearing failure on my boat trailer and the spindle is pretty guaged and needs replacing. Anyone have a reputable shop that does axle spindle replacememt or do I have to buy a new axle?

How old is the trailer? I had a spindle replaced and it failed in short order. I really think the issue is that after having more than my share of trailer problems it is a spoiled trip waiting to happen. You work to hard to have that long planned fishing trip get blown up. There are few better feelings than motoring along with a trailer that you know is right and few worse than hoping you get there and back.

New axle is piece of mind. I only replaced a spindle once, and it failed. How far you trailer is a factor.

Bit the bullet and ordered the new axle. Thanks for the input.

Highly recommend Sub-Trailer in Tinley Park. Excellent Work at a very reasonable price. I've had a New Axle with Brakes put on there and have No Gripes whatsoever. Tinley Park location:

If you are north - R.A. Adams on Route 120 in McHenry does good work.
