Hey guys, looking for some help. My fishing/hunting buddy passed away a few months back and I have the honor in help sell his boat and gear. So.. can I list the basics of the boat and you guys can throw some numbers?? Don’t wanna break any rules but I need some advice. Trying to get the most for the widow. He has LOTS of gear too from perch to salmon. Thanks for all the help.

Year make and model of the boat engine and trailer would be a good starting point. If you have any pictures, that would be even better. Pictures of the gear would help a lot too.
Thanks
Tom

Boat prices are high right now so a great time to sell a boat. Just look up the boat make and model and see what others are going for.
For used gear I feel a fair price is $0.50 on the $1.

If the motor is fairly new and is in good running condition you can expect $50 - $100 per horse depending how much work the boat itself needs, then as stated .50 to the dollar on all add-ons(trolling motor, electronics) that could sell on their own if separated from the boat. Everything else(anchors, paddles, life jackets) are sweeteners.
Also remember, sometimes a fair sale and cash in hand is better than waiting to try and extract maximum value while the boat sits around and loses value.
also never buy a used boat, buy a used motor with a free boat attached to it

I'm interested in this theory. Can you elaborate?

Hey guys, the boat is a 2000 Lund Pro V 1775 dual console. 2- Lowrance HDS 7's. 1- Lowrance HDS 5, 2000 Yamaha F115, 2006 Yamaha 9hp kicker with power tilt and controls. Sits on a 2000 Trail Master bunk trailer. Troll Master, Minn Kota Ulterra trolling motor, 2 electric Big Jon downriggers with weights, one Smooth Moves suspension seat, misc. salmon spoons, flies, dodgers. 4 wind socks, 10- Off Shore planer boards with tattle flags, about 15 Cabelas rod holders with extensions. This is just to name a few things. I have some pictures but cant upload them but I can email them if wanted. Thanks for all the input

Should be a fairly easy sell if priced right... Lots of photos will be a big plus.

Check market prices on Walleye Central, boats like that are regularly posted.
Given the circumstances the boat would probably go quickly if listed at $15,000 but could potentially fetch $20,000.

Yea that's quite a serious boat - right price it will go quick. thewatsonator wrote: RiverRat wrote: also never buy a used boat, buy a used motor with a free boat attached to it
I'm interested in this theory. Can you elaborate? Motor has the most value, cost the most to maintain, and has the highest replacement cost. Get a solid working motor up front and you will save money and enjoy more time on the water. Motor problems are the biggest headache for boat owners.

Check NADA site for boats and input everything about boat, motor, and trailer. This is a good starting point for a price
