So has been a "new" wildlife year here.....Hummers ..orioles... a pair of sandhill cranes. and yesterday had something repeatedly peaking out of my firewood pile. I was like Hmmm what is that ...can only see the head when i walked by. Then a little while later ran out into the woods...what was it? A MINK!!!!

I've seen very little activity. Hopefully they start showing up. I'm in Lombard.

I saw a Orchard Oriole this week, a Turkey Vulture on 167th past Central west of the tracks- 10 feet off the street. There are 2 in our area. They seem to like to be in Grass areas. The Swans still have 4 or 5 babies at Lake Katherine... lots of people but early AM and early afternoon OK. Has the Pelican come back to the subdivision pond south of rt. 30 and Ridgeland this year ?

Been a lull for Hummers up here for the last 4 or 5 days. Anybody else see any? Not even an oriole!

Mine are still morning and evening maybe because of the heat.A little off topic but I saw alot of young eagles on the Illinois yesterday and one made a tom turkey look like a chicken it was so big. Also there were tons of pelicans with black-tipped wings.

I've been seeing a few everyday in the afternoon. They emptied the feeder in 3 days. They must be hitting it pretty good when I'm not around.

First ever Bald Eagle in Des Plaines scoping out the DP river at Golf Road. Will start carrying a camera when I play golf at the Golf Center!
HB's are still here but slow.
