Looking for advice on a good onboard charger. I'm leaning toward a Minnkota Precision 2 bank 30 amp. Any info greatly appreciated. :thanks

hey guys speaking of battery chargers do you guys leave them plugged in all year and let the storage part of the charger keep the bats all year or do you take em out and trickle charge them? I keep the boat outside. Thanks ahead of time. Good luck out there.

I installed a cabelas 3 bank in mine and it's around $150 well worth the money charges all 3 batteries with 1 plug no more in and out 3 different chargers. I leave it plugged in so batteries are always at full charge at all time.

Like you needed another opinion. I've had a GUEST (now MARINCO) Pro-Charge Model 2611 10 AMP 2 Bank Auto for
about 15 years. Never a problem. Use it to maintain batteries during winter storage in my garage. Got it when I went 24 volt
and didn't want to carry chargers with me and stopped having to open battery boxes to hook up when on trips. Check out
the following for AMP and charging times. 30 AMPS seems like a lot but if that's what you need go for it.

Good Luck

Good luck for me so far with a few boats and the genius. Even when it was constantly wet and water spray.

I think it's hard to beat the Dual Pro professional charger. It runs 15 amps per bank and has battery status leds. Yes it's more expensive but in this case you do get what you pay for.

I noticed the Cabela’s Pro Series in that link above, there on sale now, and a positive post on this thread. I am thinking about ordering a 2 bank, gonna give it a try. I have been charging my 24 volt one at a time with a 12 volt, and only been getting about two years out of the Costco interstate batteries. Seems like I should be getting at least three.

If you have three batteries 2 trolling motor (24 volt) and a separate starting battery I would get a three bank.

I have a guest for about 10 years, no problems with it still running strong.
I bought 3 of the interstates from costco last spring,2 small ones and 1 big one. At the end of the season the big one was shot, won't hold a charge. When I bought them I noticed that the numbers are smaller than other batteries, cca amps and reserve minutes. Someone told me these are made exclusively for costco, that's why the price is so low, won't be buying these again.

:thanks for all the advice. My procrastination paid off. Minnkota has annonced $50 rebate on chargers. Found the lowest price at Anchor Express. Anyone in the market for any boating related item, check them out. Prices varied from 240.99 to 284.99. The 240.99 less the 50.00 rebate=190.99.
