Had this problem on my last boat - installed the Humminbird SI transom mount transducer per instructions and it works perfectly, clean image both sides out and down. The issue is when I get on plane the transducer creates a "Roster Tail" that kicks water up into the boat and all over the motor. Any ideas on how to solve for this?

Two diffrent boats, same issue. Any help or ideas appreciated.

I had the same problem on my last boat. I sold the boat to my buddy. He ended up fabricating a bracket that would divert the water downward. I have seen some other boats at the ramp with similar inventions. One I remember is a piece of PVC cut in half and mounted above the transducer. Not sure if this is the best way, just something I noticed and thought I would share. good luck

That is what I did on my last boat haha :) - I cut a plastic coffee can in half and mounted above transducer. Would like a "cleaner" solution this time :)

The solution came in the box if it was new, I built my own out of an old cutting board (plastic) and found no reason to change what worked for the new piece when I installed the new unit.

What part is that? I still have all the parts that came in the box and followed directions that came with it so I probably still have it laying around.

I have had the same issue this season after upgrading to a Helix 9 MEGA SI. This thread reminded me that I still needed to implement my solution. I purchased this from ebay but haven't installed it yet. I will try to install this weekend and will post an update if it works.
