FAQ;
how do you match the top of the transom aluminum to the new transom board ?

With the new wood bolted in place we go after the top edge
we use a router with 1/2 ' shank 2" cut and two guide bearings to trace the existing aluminum
them final buff job with 21x3 belt sander 50 grade aluminum oxide sanding medium
after it is done we reseal with 4 coats of west system epoxy reinstall cap with lots of 3m 5200 sealer adhesive
it is very important to make a perfect top edge to the top of transom wood to back up the aluminum cap from damage bending or denting will break the seal and start the life cycle downward spiral all over again any way you look at it this will last a lot longer than the original transom board
last picture is what this one started with. This was the largest pice that came out most of the rest removed was more like coffee grounds and some much smaller pieces

faQs: this year at the sport shows
on average what does it cost to have this work done

3-4000 dollars
using our time proven methods and marerials

Things that will add and often run project over budget ; previous repairs with get rot or sea cast not done properly where we have to dig and grind out materials
repainting if desired
in most cases these boat will have to be sent back to factory if transoms skin is ripped or severely corroded for the transom to be replaced in cases like this repairs can be around and over 10,000.00

At some point you have to consider a new boat. That point is yours to choose and we do offer re rigging your good used motor and equipment onto a new boat that I can promise you will never have this problem
Thunder jet lifetime hull warranty no wood all heavy metal transom
not!! just jet boats every thing from 18-35' pilot house boat built with out compromise @afordable price
our goal is to keep you in the game most dealers won't even try to replace a transom or farm it out to some one else that you can not get in tough with if you have problems new boat or new transom
YOU DECIDE ! stop by we can explain the options and costs

ANOTHER
FAQ:FROM THE SHOWS
Why do we only do this repair in the winter ?
with the hours of labor that goes into these repairs. In these cases we end up charging 70-77 dollars a hour for these jobs when our shop labor rate is 115 per hr
if I can find some one that wants to work on just transoms I will consider adding it for the rest of the season but for now it is case by case depending on work load
we don't want to farm it out and loose control of the quality process we have developed over a long period of time and yes mistakes made in the past .
