I haven't been out much yet this year due to work, Just wondering is anyone doing anything with cats yet?

Went out Sunday about 5pm-7pm. To one of my favorite spots on the Fox, had 4 rods out, two on bottom, two with bobber.

Only was getting consistent bites o nthe bottom two. Bobber nothing, weird because this spot is usually alot more productive with bobber. Seems like they are active, but not that active yet.

Ended up with only 2 channels, Biggest was 11lb, smaller one was 6lb.

I got a nice channel cat on a bank fishing trip back in April, but the temperatures were really unstable this spring.

Typically, channel catfish get going pretty well in mid to late April and flatheads sometime in May. I know there's guys that get a few flatheads when the water gets to 60 or so, I really like 70s and above for consistent action. I think water temps are still the biggest key to activity level at the beginning and end of the season. That's what controls the fish's metabolism. .
