Easy to use and very productive.
One of the guys commented that untold numbers of
Catfish have been taken on Hot Dogs.

I was skeptical about using hotdogs for catfish and then one day it is all that I had that was usable at bait and I had a great outing for channel cats. I'm definitely a believer in using hotdogs for cats. :respect

Thanks for the video! I have never tried the dogs raw; I've always used the ones that were burnt to a crisp.

You're welcome. You can soak them in anise or garlic and then put them in salt to firm them up if you want.
Use less dog and smaller hooks as you are comfortable with.

Any greasy meat will work. Spam chunks are good too.

Never tried spam chunks but it would make sense, they are grasier than hot dogs.

If it were spam, Id eat it.

Dont forget a good clump of red worms on a tip up for catfish. It rocks.

Hotdogs work well but turtles also love them. I used to use hotdogs and bacon all the time as a kid since it was in the fridge. Seemed like I would catch more turtles than fish.

Secret tip!!!!! We used corn king brand ( cheapest ) until the weeds got growing in summer then we would switch to Ball Park franks as they would float off the bottom and are best fished with a few split shot about 6" up the line.

Thanks for the video! I have used hotdogs for channel cats in the past and done very well on them, but I have always had a problem keeping the hotdogs on. Will have to try this out, hopefully it works!

The kids catch big bass on dogs at the pond as well. Cool rig! So easy a caveman could do it.
