thinking its time to swithch from downtown salmonoids to kankakee cats, i know the rivers up but have any of our smallmouth/walleye live baiters hit any accidental cats in the willmington area yet? looking forward to the wet wading summer evenings with a couple of osprey dive bombing the river as the kingfishers call. theres nothing better that wading in full summer and looking down seeing a 4 ft. gar hiding in the shade between your legs....do you not move and let it leave at its own leisure or do you take a whack at it with the butt of your rod..... my choice was wrong ...what would you do.

If you don,t have a 9mm you had better run out of the river like the whole world had just caught on fire.

My nephew caught a 17 pounder out of the K3 last weekend in the Wilmington/Channahon area. The key is cut bait!!! The funny part is that he caught it on a crappie hook!!!!
