Had a couple hours to explore this afternoon. Still early in the season, but thought I'd have a look much farther north than I usually fish.

Sunny and 53 degrees, water was 40 degrees and as clear as I've seen the Fox, 1880 cfs.

The water wasn't as good as it looked on Google earth. Not a bad stretch of water near a bridge that doesn't go anywhere, might be productive from a kayak, but for the same drive I can get to better water. Didn't expect to catch anything and I wasn't surprised. Nice to be out in the sun.

Had a treat driving home on South 8th Street in W. Dundee, in the smallest of fields I counted at least 16 whitetail feeding. Had to pull over to take a pic, didn't capture all of them, just the concentration:
