Finally after a couple of busy years around the house I've been able to get in the waders a few times this fall. Hit the Fox later in the season than I usually do last weekend, throwing my favored Mepps dressed aglia #4 silver/white and shad raps that drive the smallies wild in September with little effect. Managed a couple of medium smallies, a large channel cat and a 12-15# carp (tail hooked). I did try bouncing a crawfish soft plastic across the current with no bites, but I have no experience with soft plastics and was probably doing a poor job.

Can anyone suggest good Fox river smallie techniques for this cooler water that I can work on learning? I'll probably get a few more trips in this year, which is later than I'm used to fishing and my go to techniques are bombing. Thanks in advance!

I wish I did, I've been getting my ass kicked on the Kank and more recently. I think the low clear water has something to do with it.
