Got out for a little bit yesterday. Weather was beautiful. Fishing was tough. My buddy got three small schoolies and I got one decent one (17.5"). Senkos.

We've got a new spot that has potential for 10+ pounder. It's a one mile stretch of canal between two locks. It's gotta be at least 100' across. Both banks have a good 10 to 20' of vegetation. Lots of open water in the middle and it has decent depth. I walked 3/4 of it throwing senkos and on the way back I threw chatterbaits. I'm new to this kind of fishing. Any suggestions?

I know a lot of guys that use shiners for the big ones. Might want to slow roll a spinner bait or 5 inch swim bait or bigger!
