I live in Elmwood park and had a pair of them in the tree in front of my house. One came down and grabbed something and they were eating it in the tree. Very cool. Never seen one before and didn’t recognize the tail.

Thanks for posting

We have them hunting at our neighbors bird feeder quite often. Fun stuff.

I saw about 8 birds circling over Lake Katherine(Palos) about 6 weeks ago. My parents owned a House on Table Rock for 20 years , so my first guess was Vultures. . Turkey Vultures. They smell their meal after a few days of ripening. A month ago I have seen them by my house in a Large Southwest side field about 50 feet from the Road. If any birders want to know the SW field- just pm me. I also can text you pictures of the red wrinkley head. I see them every once every 10 times I pass the field in mid Afternoon.

Haha, looks like it's time for a bigger bird bath! That was one brave squirrel running around that close to a Hawk. When I was a kid I always wanted to catch the wildlife and keep them as a pet. Now all the wildlife in my yard are like pets that can come and go as they please. It's so much more satisfying that way.

That's a great video. Thanks for sharing!

Very good footage Buddy,
Are they about the same size as a red tail hawk?

The one I saw seemed a little smaller. Still a big wing span and that ringed tail.
