So with all the craziness the last couple of weeks I've been spending a lot of time in the "iso- chamber"
basement trying to be productive.

The latest build is a Batson Revelation 7' med. action spinning rod designed for casting crankbaits.
The handle section is made from scratch using cork "burl" rings and is complete and dry fitted on the blank
next up epoxy...… it is much easier to buy your handle components pre made and cheaper too if your time is money.
For me though it's all about fishing and anything that has anything to do with it !

Looks good Johnny, like the decorative cork work. 8)~

Is that a white blank? I think a bronze/gold/copper might look nice with the burl. Then again I'm a scientist with no artistic ability so take my advice with a grain of salt!

White and gold eh? I’d say that counts as one step up from fancy. I think they call it ...fancy shmancy. Good lookin craftsmanship Tim!

Build Update
The nice thing about dry fitting is getting a finished look and the ability to correct or change

Image

Before epoxying I decided to remove some of the rear grip diameter

I also opted to exchange the fore grip with one I thought matched better

I liked Tiny's color choice for thread and went with a coppery brown for the winding with a gold trim band
I'm sure it'll be darker after I epoxy the guides but I'm pleased with how it's coming together.

That thing is looking pretty cool, great color combinations. I did post early on this thread how nice it looked when you posted just the handle, but for some reason it didn’t go through.
