Have not been able to get the boats out with the weather. It will be on this weekend though.

Planning on fishing on Monday beneath Wabash or Columbus bridge if raining.

Anyone with info on whether the river walk is accessible would be appreciated.

Ditto with ice conditions on river prevent shore.

Thx!

The river is frozen wall to wall at the Michigan Ave. bridge at the moment, but I am sure the ice will have moved on by Monday.

I take it the red "ice breaker" boat across from navy pier doesn't traverse the river, then.

Thx.

There is a blue ice breaker that goes back and forth between the river and the locks. It must have done a run recently, because the ice is broken up now. With that thing in action, the current, and the temps this weekend, you should be able to fish by Monday.

Saw a video on Facebook of the hour boat breaking the river up. Looked pretty locked up with big chunks after.

At Navy Pier, it was easy to fish between ice bergs because you could cross the chain fence easily and see the voids.

No such luck at the river, with the fence. Any links to media videos up to the minute?

Hate to be a winer , but it costs more than a cupla nickles to get from home to fish. Happy to fork
it over...but advice would be helpful.

I realize that the city has more important things to do, but do the local businesses have the obligation/desire to maintain the accessibility
of the river walk? Does anyone salt the stairs?

Enquiring minds want to know. Especially around Sunday night...wanna fish Monday

Thx, in advance!
