I used use Navy Pier Live Cam to see if the lake was frozen. Unfortunately, the cam has been down for about a week
The surface water by Chicago has warmed up to about 35 degrees. So I'm guessing the ice is gone now. Now, if the water has cleared up, maybe the perch will be back?

MrFrost....I'm in any day, if you want to carpool.

Anyone know if the Navy Pier is frozen?

I'll for sure let you know. I think the river near the Columbus street bridge may be promising.

Thinking of maybe tomorrow.

There is a parking lot right against the river at North Water & Columbia.

We can fish out of the back of my truck.

TEAPOT. Is the parking lot at N Water and Columbus a public parking? Do you mind sharing the rates and where to access? I've never fished the river and am interested in trying either this Friday or Saturday. Thanks.

I saw the parking lot via aerial view.

I don't know anything about the lot, other than it can't get much closer to the alleged location.

There are parking spots within right next to the river.

TEAPOT. Did you go today?
I'm thinking of going tomorrow. I found two parking lots that charge $12 if you enter before 7 am and leave before 7 pm. They are both close to Grand and Lakeshore Dr, about 10 minutes walk to Navy Pier, Chicago River, etc. I'll check Navy Pier first before I decide on the River.

Hallie-US:

Sorry, I couldn't find anyone to go and recent news was a little sketchy so I stayed home.

Can go today or tomorrow, but as usual, nobody to go with.

MrFrost (aka, MrFreeze):

Any interest
