Paid a visit to Chicago Fly Fishing Outfitters last weekend and spent way too much money on streamer materials...the arsenal has slowly been getting restocked this week with bunny leeches, parrs and eggs. Looks like they're dry today north of the cheese curtain and the water levels are coming down nicely. Thinking Sunday may be the day! Anyone else headed out this weekend?

I have a large quantity of fly tying material-chenile,yarn,fur,hooks etc. Cheap prices. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send photos.

That's a tasty looking leech, skunky.

sunday IS the day!... though on account of work, I'll be after smallies closer to home, hopping and dropping big woolly buggers down in Jackson Harbor.

That's a great shop. I've been tying up a bunch of stuff to use this year.

Turns out Sunday was not the day. For me, at least. Water level/flow was down on the Root, but it was dirty. Like "smells like a toilet" dirty. Swung anything/everything with some flash in it, but not a single bump. Someone drifting spawn banked one, and another guy swinging a brown marabou leech had one. Lots of anglers out but little action. Still nice to get out...but probably should have stayed home and hit up the lake front.
