I think I reported that I purchased a Temple Fork rod, 3 wt, 7-1/2 ft, and wanted a smaller, lighter rod than my 5 wt, 9 footers (Heddon fiberglass and Sage Vantage). I am so pleased with the rod that I hardly use the others. Granted that I have only been fishing the Duper and there are no behemoths (at least taking my flies). Casting is easy and the feel of a fight when I hook into a big gill or a smallmouth just makes the fishing enjoyable.
I thought, since no new threads have been posted, I would just send an update. I have met other guys on the west branch who also fly fish and we have exchanged pleasantries.

I reported, in the Dupage section, that I hooked (most likely snagged) a carp. That fish gave me a battle for quite a few runs and the TFO was doubled over but did not break. The battle ended in a draw; it shook the fly (a wooly bugger) so I got my rod, line and fly back with no losses.
