I managed a good one this morning. I shot a nice 10 pointer November 4th and killed a doe during the 2nd gun season. My freezer is pretty much full but last week a big 8 pointer showed up on the trail camera. I saw this deer from August through the end of October but he disappeared for the rut. Then last week he showed back up. I have not bow hunted since November 4th so I busted out my gear and went out.

At 7:45 he showed up walking the path and I kinda rushed the shot because I thought if I would have let keep walking he would have been 3 yards from the stand. It was a 12 yard shot and I hit him in the spine but a follow up shot finished him. I'm guessing he will score about 145 but I will not know for sure until a couple months.

His right G2 had a kicker which is broken off and he had a little drop tine on that same beam.

Very Nice! Good Deer this late in the season!

Headed down to Fulton County to pull cameras this weekend. I haven't been out since second gun season and used up all my points with my wife this year to get a late season bow hunt in. My local spot goes dry after about November 20th, never get a deer on camera after that.

Pulled 13 cameras Tuesday, a lot of walking but it looks like most of our good bucks made it through second season. One disappeared but not too upset since another two good ones showed up. Looks like I'm done for this season but already have three new stand spots picked out.

No antlers for me this year but had the opportunities just holding out for 140" or bigger and over 3.5 years. At least I got a doe during gun season and my dad got a a small 8 point so our freezers are full.
