I just went , last weekend , to a 3D Shoot . It's the first time in 10 yrs. for me . WHAT A BLAST . It is the closest thing that you can do , for practice , to actually hunting . The coarse was set-up tuff , and the targets were all top notch 3D animals . Distances varied from 10 yrds. to 62 yrds . In the woods , with obstructions to shoot around / over / thru . I'll admit that there were several targets that I would NOT take the shot in a real hunting situation . WHAT GREAT PRACTICE THO . Most of the 3D Shoots are over for this yr. Wish I would have done more .

I really wish there was a spot close to the city to shoot 3d. Its great practice. My buddy just set up a stand in his backyard and a couple 3d targets so I'll be able to do a little practice from an elevated stand. Looking forward to shooting a bit this saturday when I'm down there. Nothing helps your skills like shooting from the height you will be hunting from.

3D shooting is great! Hoping to get out and shoot the course in Richmond this weekend! We have a great 3D shoot out in Garden Prairie every June. Usually have over 130 people each year!

The one that I just attended was in Joliet . There is one in Bolingbrook , somewhere near Bass Pro , and Ive heard of another , I think in / near Aurora , by the Fox River . In joliet , it was at the Joliet Archery Club . Open to the public for the 3D Shoot and the cost was $15 / non-member , for a 40 target course . I believe that was their last shoot for the yr. 40 targets was a LOT of shooting and it poured rain on us with 10 or 11 targets to go . It was still a BLAST to do . I know that I will search out and do more next yr. It HAS to make you a better shot / hunter .
