I’ll start a thread for a bow kill. Shot him this morning chasing a doe.

15 yard quartering away. I wanted to hit him a little farther back but this still did the trick. I got him right at first light.

Congrats, great buck!

I've been out for four sits so far this year. Two at a spot about 10 minutes from my house and two down in central Illinois. 2 sits around here and I didn't see a deer. Somewhat expected it because my buddy bought 20 acres to build a house on and its mainly CRP/Marsh area and has been planting trees. Have some deer on camera and a really nice 10 but I think they are staying away. Went down to Central Illinois and hunted the 30th and saw exactly two small bucks still together and 60 yards off. I'm heading back down south tomorrow for 5 days. I pushed my trip back a few days to try and hit this cold front coming in. Just too hot to hunt right now.

I did get lucky and picked up another spot to hunt a few hundred yards from my house. Was watching the farmer plant winter wheat with the kids and he stopped and we got to talking and offered to let me deer hunt. It felt like I hit the lottery. I put a stand up and a few cameras but haven't hunted it yet. Probably won't until after thanksgiving. Cameras show a few decent bucks and does. I have seen a couple monsters roaming around the area, hopefully they make it back to that area!
