I was asked a couple of ?'s about the FOID and a MuzzleLoader . I own and use a ML but have a valid FOID . So I really don't remember if they ask for it or not . Here's the ?'s

#1 Do you need an FOID to purchase / own a ML ?
#2 Do you need an FOID to purchase ammo ( powder , bullets , primers )
#3 Do you need an FOID to hunt with a ML ?

Hopefully , someone " in the know " about the regs can help with these ?'s THANKS

It's sad, but yes for question 3. Thanks to this great gun control state (Chicago Politicans) of ours. I normally buy my bullets, powder and primer out of state during my traveling. As for buying a ML, I really don't know here in this state. Again, I bought my last two out of state as well. I guess I will never get over the facts that all you should need is a hunting license, gun with bullets and go out and hunt or just shoot. I got to move out of his state soon. Just my thoughts, Wazoo54

In Illinois a FOID is needed to buy a pellet rifle if it's more than 700fps.

You need a F O I D card to even touch a gun or any component. Go to any gun show and try to touch any and see what happens.

Most folks have a card holder hanging around their necks to save wear on their pockets digging it out each time you want to look at something.
