We were able to get out on Sunday for some late season goose hunting on Lake Michigan. There was some built up ice at the ramp and skim ice on the lake, but we were able to get out and hunt.

We shot 5 and missed a lot more. The birds were flying the shore line, and it was difficult to pull them off to our decoy spread. The ice also kept coming through and messing with our spread.

All in all it was a great February day on the lake. Not too cold or windy.

I didn't realize there is still an open season. Were you hunting out of Indiana?

Thanks. Good to know for next year if I want to extend my waterfowl season.

how does it work out there? is there a distance from shore you have to be? are you on break walls or just in open water?

If you're in the water in Indiana you are good.
