How has the ice been lately in various areas? thinking about where to go this weekend. How you think this weather will hurt?

I fished today with the neighbor kid and the ice was 4-5 inches. I saw it ice up and freeze. its in my backyard in orland. to be honest I expected much much more. its been frozen since the cold snap around Christmas.

You think they will postpone the hardwater classic at Blackwell with this warm spell?

Yes, I think they will.still have it, about 8-10" there now this warm will not make it go away that fast. Now if it rains thats a different story. You can always call the forest preserve and ask what they are thinking about the situarion?
And remember wind chill factors have nothing to do with making ice, its the real temp that matters not saying it has not been cold but I think people get confused when they see these crazy - numbers because of the wind chill and assume there should be alot of ice.... not the case....
Just be carefull, no ice is good!!!! See ya at the hardwater classic!!
