Going to give Channel lake one more try.On monday I was one of two people out there, fished 6 hours for 17 keeper gills. They are really lethargic right now, if I caught every big gill that looked at the bait and swam away it would've been a great day.Tomorrows plan is to sit on one hole and grind it out instead of hole-hopping.The fish are there it's a matter of patience.

I knew I should have came to channel. Tried Geneva again and got 3 small gills. Stopped at bangs on the way home and got into a flurry of nice perch. I was pretty surprised at the size of them I was getting.

Well done RT.

I went to Channel on Saturday by Turtle's. Caught maybe two dozen mostly small ones. Saw some real nice bluegills and crappies but few of those tried to bite. They mostly did the thing where they get close to the bait and then try to just suck it in. If it doesn't move into their mouth they get suspicious and move off. I used the lightest jigs I had to try and help with that situation but it was still a tough bite. Beautiful day though. Left my shanty home since it was so nice out but I wished I had brought it so I could sight fish a little better. Oh well, glad I hit it one last time.

They were like that today was hoping for a bite like friday but it was from daybreak till around 9:00 and pretty well shut off after that. It's depressing to see those big gills that come within an inch and then swim away.If anybody goes the snow is gone so bring your cleats, also the ice is still 10".

I’m thinking of hitting up Geneva Friday night, hope the ice will still be safe. I tried beck lake on Sunday and my foot went right through near the shoreline, probably good ice out further, but there was no way to get out there.

Try to go somewhere with permanent docks extending into the lake because the offshore ice should last a few more days yet.

No more ice for me locally.
Heard someone put a utv thru the ice on Pistakee this weekend, they had to bring in an airboat to get it out.
Silver Springs state park,Loon lake.A person went thru, called rescue.Within 15 minutes 2 more broke thru on different parts of the lake. They had to rescue 3,all are fine-

Ended up on Geneva Saturday night, ice was still 10 inches in the narrows. Only caught a couple perch. The ramp at Linn Pier had some tricky ice.

Yesterday there still was a foot of ice by Musky Tales on Channel lake. There were a group of guys fishing the deep water on the north end of Channel. Fishing was very slow. a bunch of small perch. The guys in the deep water were getting cats.
