I think my eyes just welled up. What a beautiful machine! I'd take it but it don't have a hammoc. Because that's where I'd be sleeping going forward!

lOl
I AM SURE THERE ARE A LOT OF US GUYS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM
But this is a great option for the guy that cant quite get the new one as equipped this one would go out the door with tax a titles ect at just under 40k
And when you consider the cost of owning a boat the resale value of these Hewes Crafts makes this one a even better deal. The only major changes between this one and a new 2016 is basically The price The price has gone up a little every year dragging up the resale value as well.
STOP BY AND HAVE A LOOK

Hey Frank,
Has anyone ever put a pedestal seat in the bow area with a foot controlled trolling motor? I know it wouldn't have as much room as my current 18.5 foot Tyee but is it still something that would be feasible?
I'm going to be pulling the trigger in about two years (truck paid off :) ) but I'm starting my research and looking now, this is the last boat I plan on purchasing in my life. There are a bunch of different boats out there but I'm always drawn back to the Hewescraft, especially when I see you at Hammond and Tinley. I do not want to give up fishing from the bow as while I hit Erie and lake Michigan I also like to fish smaller lakes and spend the majority of my time in the front.

yes we have put pedestals up front before but more popular is the quad base seat for the bow
yes the bow is small but its is designed that way for safety When the door to the bow is closed and snapped shut the bow can be filled completely with water (as in stuffing the front end in a wave) no water enters the operators section The bow can not hold enough water weight to upset the stability or floating integrity of the boat the water drains over board thru deck scuppers/drains The trade off here for room in the bow is unparalleled safety The window frame is my favorite seat for fishing the bow dont try this with the windows / windshields of boats we have been used to seeing around here.

Is that quad base seat heavy enough to stay up there when the boat is moving from one location to another in a couple foot chop? Also does that seat swivel? If so that sounds like it may work.

yes the base is heavy I usually lay it on its side so the back of the seat does not block my view
no it does not swivel you have to pick it up to move/swivel it

Hewescrafts are great boats, I should know as we have owned one for several years. For the seat base all you have to do is put a seat swivel on the seat and you have a swivel seat on the base. I would say there is just enough room up front to run a foot controlled trolling motor. We have a Minnkota iPilot, not a foot controlled motor. I do stand up front and cast occasionally so that is an option. Trolling is my preferred fishing technique. As Frank said, I also like to lean against that big sturdy windshield also. It's also nice to sit behind when it is windy or cold, a lot different than the v-hulls that are more common around here.

Because of our limited winter hours and the calls and Emails Requests to view this boat we are offering additional hours by appointment just call or email we will do our best to accommodate all serious interested persons that are struggling to make it here during the regular business hours.
Happy Holidays !

To answer recent calls and emails
no we are not bringing this boat to the Tinley show
We will however have the brand new version of this boat on display as well as the brand new version of the 190 sea runner hard top. Come and see how much you get with a 19' hard top from Hewes craft
you wont belive this is a 19' boat has more fishing room than most 23' boat we are used to seeing around this part of the country
OUTSIDE the back gym by the football field BRING YOUR COAT
if you want to see this used one you must stop by the store
if you cant make it during regular business hours call for appointment we can accommodate MOST of these requests with a little planning
