Calumet Marine webstore now offers whole herring shipping frozen on dry ice to your door FOR FREE!!

This is currently a pre order, the herring is currently on its way up from flordia, will make a short pit stop on ohio then our freezers. If you order now you can expect it in about a week and a half.

Also now offering vacuum packed strips available now.

Plus we still have a limited supply of King strips available.

We do have the FRESH red and green in the store now. Recently harvested in Flordia and delivered right to Chicago.

Online orders should start shipping out monday and tuesday.

just about out of red label
still have green plenty of blue left
wont be any more untill next july well after the meat bite starts always before fresh is available
it dont spoil when kept properly frozen
get some now and save be ready at the same time

Sure it does. Its gets rancid and mushy even in a deep freeze.

I suppose any thing is possible
but i suspect if it arrives frozen solid like a rock packed in dry ice and ITS KEPT FROZEN
The stuff may look freezer burned after a year or more but mushy is usually a product of refreezing and rancid is a smell from bacteria that is decomposing the meat
now salt packed and brined takes different set of rules to properly care for

i have to throw my two cents in... frank martin gave me some herring that was a year old and it even looked fresh like it just came from the ocean. that stuff stays good as long as you keep it in the deep freeze!!!!!!!!!!!1 i have nothing but praise for that stuff and his business.. i even tried it ice fishin!!!
