I cant wait to get this one done and on the water for a sea trial
This will be the first fishing machine we have rigged with a chirp sonar set up
CHIRP = (Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse)
we have installed these or similar systems on some NOA research vessels and the university of illinois geology vessels

But this will be the first one on a pure fishing boat and we plan on giving it a good checking out

JD

I have to say things are going our way

Jays 2007 starCraft sold a lot faster than expected we where hopping to have it sold by march for a early april delivery
now we can move up the expected delivery date even with the extra goodies going on

one thing to keep in mind about cold water/weather boating Safety FIRST

not only do you have to have a clean/clear ramp lot of other things have to be in place

backing in to water that has even small packs pieces of ice floating in the water will break tail light lenses and tail lite bulbs

the slightest impact of a piece of ice out on the water can shear rivet heads off the bottom of riveted boats

What can be more common some thing i have done my self a few times is break or damage transducers
not break them off just damage them so they done get a good signal any more
All of them are very fragile
we have seen this time and time again a broken or damaged transducer has been the cause of more sonar units being replaced than any thing else i have ever found to date "GUY WILL SAY THIS SONAR IS CRAP I DENT EVER WANT TO BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN"
First thing we ask "did you try a new tranducer?"
Lot of fish finders are replaced When all that was real needed was a new transducer
The kind of tranducers a good fish finders use these days and not 25 or 50 bucks any more you must add a zero to the end of that price in some cases two zeros
we have in the past installed transducers to be easily removable for guys that want to go our real early spring and late fall

guys like me!
yes i would rather be fishing but "wise me wait to set the hook"

Think with this cold coming, it might be "wise me wait to set the hook" JD.... wouldn't want to do any damage to that beauty- :D
