was out today ... fishing was a little slow ... took a while to find fish .. every thing was small ... with the melting next week i think that will be the end !!!

It doesn't go that fast.Also this time of the year is the doldrums for ice fishing.Spent 6 hours at Channel to get 17 keepers yesterday,but we'll be good Catholics tomorrow observing Lent.

Remember that the snow pack is insulating the ice. It will take time for the snow to melt exposing the clear ice. If we get rain after that it will go fast. We will still have a hard water season for a bit. All next weeks weather will do is make travel a little easier.

your right about the ice but I hate fishing with my feet in slush or water ??? going out again today ....before the warm up !!!

fished in the morning.... 8 inches of snow over 1 to 3 inches of slush .... depending were on the pond you are !!! feet stayed nice and dry after being in slush for 4 hours !!!

Agree Hunterman. Was out yesterday and pulling a one man shack through that stuff was not easy. slipped and fell a few times and found out the goretex on the glove were for wind, NOT water. Putting my stuff away and getting the long rods ready.

tomorrow and sunday will be it for me !! just E Mailed the IDNR to get information about braidwood opener !Should open on the 1st but you never know !! will get answer by this evening ! I always get quick response to my E Mails from the IDNR !!
