Headed out for walleye/perch. Never fished there in August. Any insight? I realize I may have to jump to other launches but plan on starting with either Catawba or Mazuriks. Also, anything worth targeting in east harbor? I'll have my 10 year old nephew along so variety is often a necessity to keep him interested or in the event of rough seas on the big lake.

They are finding perch around Rattlesnake. Seems the bite is hit or miss on days, but watch the graph and stay on the pod.

Run the gap between middle and north with Bandits and snap weights and you will find some walleye. If you don't find them there take a ride and launch out of Huron and run to the Dumping grounds and run cranks and spoons and see what works best, but cranks have been out producing spoons.

Just spoke to a friend of mine who is pre-fishing for the Tournament tomorrow. Out of Mienkes Marina they have been fishing out past west sisiter island and still tearing up the shorts, smaller than 15 inches. He did say though they have been getting 8-11 keepers a day this week. Take lots of sorting. I will probably head out there this weds, thurs for perch so I can let you know more then.
