Anyone here , ever fish on Platte Bay , in Lk.Mi. ,,, Gonna make a trip there in Aug. My daughter and grandson , wanna go BAD ,,, OK , I'M IN ,,,,

Have been there years ago, the platte river access is very shallow. They have to dredge it daily with an excavator to keep it open. West winds makes it a hairy passage. The only other way to get there is out of Frankfort, big boat recommended. It’s beautiful if u can get out. Deep water almost up to shore. Used to go week after Labor Day, coho Porpoising in every direction.

Interesting story about the earliest days of coho fishing on Platte Bay.
Good to hear from an O.G. the cdxdog!
Platte Bay coho have been on my to do list for a long time. The drone footage from an older Al Linder video of the stacked coho is worth looking up. Jigging them up on spoons or casting for salmon / trout is a way cool way to experience the big lake
