Has anyone fished here before? I was going to take my kayak out and try it but is it worth going there? or would shabbona be better?

:drink Lake is decent in the spring ... But weeds make fishing tough in the summer. .. If you could plan a trip soon after a rain the water rises and top waters over the weeds can be awesome... It's a man made water filter system by design and that pattern can be pretty cool to try

That's a fantastic lake that a lot of kayakers fish. Like the professor said, it does get very weedy so a lot of the shallows will be tough to fish. It's great in the spring. Caught some big ones out of there.
