Thinking of where to fish without getting buzzed of the lake by skiers and PWC a friend( spindoctor) recently gave me some Intel he has had a good bite going on wolf, he was heading out there himself, so I hooked I the boat and met him on the water. The day started out great pulling harnesses, they put 5 or so eye's in the boat I had a couple bass a couple toothy northern one at 30 the other a hammer handle, crappie and a perch. About 10 the wind just shut down and so did the bite so we both headed to the ramp. Not to bad for a few hours close to home.

Were you using glup or real crawlers? Glad to see you had some fun close to home.

Got a seldom day off due to the rain so I made it back to wolf from 10 to 2 started slow after 12 the bite picked up with better fish all around three eye's all better than 16, a nice 2 lb bass and a couple of pike that thought they were steelhead, the show they put on was great 3 ft out of the water a couple times each was a blast on 6 lb test. If this keeps up I may keep a few fish for a crisco party

Sounds great, thanks for the report.

Is it true or a myth that only the IN side holds eyes? I've read different accounts of the difference between the IL side and the IN side. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I caught a 24 inch wally on the Illinois side a little over 20 years ago so I do know that they were there at one time.

hit it as early when they opened the gate with spindoctor, wo got some nice fish for the first couple hours until it got hot and the bite died by 11. water temps are high at 81-82 I don't know how long the troll bite will last, I hope for a couple more trips

Thanks for the boat ride HoeH! Always a blast, and a needed distraction from troubled times. That last fish was on my mind most of the day...."the one that got away"!!!!!
