Not to be comical but do you think this can work like skein? It's definitely strong enough to stay on the hook.

Good thinking! I know carp love mulberries, it’s definitely worth a shot! Heck, there are a lot of garlic scented lures on the market, hell even coffee scented. What’s next, charcuterie board Alabama rigs?

Does scent matter when it comes to salmon fishing? If so, I can soak it in sardine oil.

When they're zombies, who knows if scent matters. But when they're fresh, yes. I did some back trolling on a charter out in Oregon, and the captain wrapped the bottom of his kwik fish plugs with tuna fish just for the scent. Said it has increased hook ups at least two-to-one since he started doing it. All the charters on the Columbia do the same, apparently.

Scent is probably the most important factor in skein fishing. Experienced skein fisherman put a lot of time and effort in getting the perfect cure. We have skein available at Lake Michigan Angler but if you cant get your hands on any I would try Tube jigs or shrimp.
