Launched early at about 6:30 on Saturday morning. First time on Heidecke for the year. Water temps were 56-57 degrees, and the water level was lower than I expected based on some earlier April reports. It was about 4 or 5 inches below the colored bar on the bridge. Jigged and trolled both the North and South sides. The winds really picked up throughout the day and there were some fairly large whitecaps on the lake.

Ended up landing 8 or 9 Crappie and three short walleye.

Good going for the first time out. No skunk is always a good thing.
