It was a slow but gorgeous day. Caught popping a plastic minnow off the bottom in about 20 fow north side, in the middle of nowhere drifting with wind. Thought it was a big walleye the whole time, I find the tug cadence very similar.

Having a wind proof warm jacket was critical.
I forgot to include some additional details.
Fish:23 inches
Bait: Lunker city green and purple plastic minnow about 4 inches on 1/4 oz jig head
Water temp: warmest I found was 48.5 F on the main lake.
Water level: barely made it under the bridge in my 16 ft sylvan v-hull
Wind: 15-20 from the West
Sunny

Nice fish - I have the same picture from the same spot on a similar type of day from about 3 years ago. Seems when that water is cold you can get some nice ones in those deeper holes on the north side

Funny how the stripers seem the first fish to go out there
